Warning against buying seeds from untrusted sources

To ensure high-quality and high-yield crops, renowned agricultural expert Mohammad Ibrahim Al-Fraih warned against "purchasing seeds, seedlings, fertilizers, and chemical pesticides from unreliable, unknown sources, or those that are not commercially licensed and certified, to avoid the increasing fraud in the trade of agricultural materials and supplies.” He called for “relying on major Kuwaiti (national) agricultural companies in this vital sector to ensure safe, healthy, and abundant agricultural production after sowing seeds in nurseries or directly in the field, thereby guaranteeing high-quality yields and protecting agricultural soil from pests, worms, viruses, and fungi, while maintaining its fertility.” He said: "The owners of major national agricultural companies are working to increase the number of sites or factories for the production of seeds, seedlings, fertilizers, and pesticides, and to inspect them thoroughly before purchasing them and importing them into Kuwait." Abu Badr also warned against “some farmers being deceived and rushing to buy fertilizers, pesticides, seeds, and seedlings based on illustrated emails or lavish catalogs and low prices from street vendors.” He highlighted the service provided by some licensed Kuwaiti agricultural companies in Al-Wafra and Al-Abdali, which supply seedlings for dozens of vegetable and fruit crops—including tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, corn, and cucumbers—and even fruit bushes such as figs, and papaya bushes with a promising future in Kuwaiti farms, through their modern green nurseries in Al-Wafra and Al-Abdali, saving farmers time, effort, and money... in sowing seeds to produce good, strong agricultural seedlings, especially for the country’s costly and labor-intensive protected cultivation.”
