Developing the Agricultural Sector and Poultry Industry

First: Agricultural Product (Vegetables) Sorting and Packing Center. The sector currently suffers from weak marketing and storage infrastructure, leading to significant waste of production. To address this, the memorandum included the following: the need to support the establishment of integrated sorting and packing centers, backed by cold storage facilities and modern transportation fleets to ensure product quality. Providing financial support of up to 50% of the value of the equipment used in these centers to encourage private sector participation. Allocating logistics sites for these centers in the main production areas, namely: Al-Wafra, Al-Abdali, Al-Sulaibiya, and Kabd. Issue a standardized agricultural specifications manual to ensure the quality of agricultural plastic and the cooling systems used in these centers. Second: Feed Mills and Nutrition Development Feed represents the greatest challenge to the sustainability of the poultry and livestock industries, and the memorandum proposed radical solutions, including: Establishing national feed mills aimed at producing high-quality feed to reduce dependence on imports. Shifting from the use of raw feed (grains), which results in losses ranging from 10% to 25%, to the use of processed and compressed feed to improve consumption efficiency. Establishing strategic and commercial feed reserves to meet the needs of the local market and ensure price stability during crises. Collaborating with international centers (such as the Australian Research Institute) to develop feed and alfalfa varieties that can withstand high temperatures and water scarcity. Third: Egg and Poultry Product Sorting and Distribution Center Small companies suffer from limited capacity for development, high feed prices, and marketing challenges. Solution: Establish a unified center for the collection and sorting of eggs under the name “Kuwait Eggs.” Utilize broken eggs by converting them into pasteurized liquid egg for restaurants in accordance with international standards.
