
Dutch Agricultural Export Award Granted to Mohammad Al-Furaih
The Dutch Ambassador to Kuwait, Mr. Joseph Velling, announced plans to present the Dutch Agricultural Exports Award on the 27th of this month to Mr. Mohammed Al-Fraih of the Burgan Agricultural Food Industries Corporation. In a press statement yesterday, he noted that the award is presented by the Dutch Minister of Agriculture to businesspeople who, through their outstanding efforts, have contributed to the export and marketing of Dutch agricultural and horticultural products. The award was established in 1986 and has been presented twice in the Gulf region to date, both times to businessmen in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The statement noted that Mr. Mohammed Al-Fraih deserved the award for his long and distinguished relationship with Dutch companies. Over the course of 15 years, he has established business relationships with Dutch institutions, including the import and marketing of a wide range of products ranging from farm birds to flower seeds. He has also developed the use of Dutch technology and expertise to help advance Kuwaiti agriculture, and Mr. Mohammed Al-Fraih has become an expert in the agricultural sector. He has contributed to strengthening bilateral relations between the State of Kuwait and the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The award is scheduled to be presented at a luncheon held at Ambassador Velling’s residence, attended by prominent Kuwaiti figures, as well as the Dutch Agricultural Attaché, Mr. Herman Heiligeman, who is based in Riyadh.
